Scholarship Opportunities
The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority established the Education Student Account for Children with Disabilities Program in 2021 to provide scholarships to certain students attending eligible nonpublic schools. If your child has a designation such as ADHD, OHI, SLD, ASD, or GAD, up to $17,000 of the specialized services I provide can be granted as long as you register for the program and provide the monthly bill. More information can be found in the NCSEAA's website.
Where to Find Testing
If you think your child may be a candidate, undergoing testing can be vital to their receiving this support. Local testing services include CReATE and WNC Psychological Services in Western North Carolina.Â
How I can help
I provide Orton Gillingham literacy evaluations and prescriptive services for children who are struggling with literacy fluency at any age. Tutoring services incorporate hands - on learning in my home office and include interactive activities and games that also encourage growth in executive function skills like organization, planning and prioritizing, building working memory and time wisdom, and deepening self awareness. These skills are taught explicitly and in context whenever possible, which helps students transfer their learning in a meaningful way.

When ADHD is left uncovered until adolescence or adulthood, students can sometimes develop associated symptoms of anxiety and depression. Whether or not these symptoms are associated, my sessions can also incorporate somatic therapy, nature therapy, and mindfulness strategies to address feelings of overwhelm, hopelessness, anger, and frustration.Â
However you show up, you will be met with kindness and understanding, and every attempt will be made to provide you with the tools and the environment to restore and inspire you.
